Training dogs and Helping people learn how to train their dogs has been so much fun. It has been a privilege over the last ten years to help thousands of people and their dogs. The journey that I started March 29 1999 has been different than I dreamed and envisioned. I thought that I would be helping more hunters and sporting enthusiast with outstanding gun dogs, retrievers on land and in the water have outdoor adventures like you see on ESPN and AKC sanctioned Field Trials
My blessing and gift over the past ten years has been my ability to help dogs of all breeds and ages learn how to behave. I have had the honor & privilege to help so many people, make friends with great people and their dogs. My clients are more often stay at home moms who take care of everything, and yes train the dog too. They are professionals, physicians, nurses, teachers, engineers, accountants, and attorneys. They are the small business owner and the PHD Physiologists to name a few. As you can see, they are a much different group than the hunter and these dogs are most often in the home. In the home their behavior must be much better than in a pen or kennel
I think people instinctively & automatically fuss and accuse their dogs of being bad, hard-headed & sometimes of not being too bright. Then amazingly, in the midst of their first lesson, they realize their dog is very smart. I can teach a dog something new in about 3 minutes. Learning can be fast and easy when we learn how to break down an exercise and make it very easy for the dog to understand what we want & reward the correct choice. If you want your dog to really learn, then we must teach instead of fuss, we must engage the dogs’ mind. When we teach in such a way that encourages your dog to make his won decisions, then he sees and understands how he is to behave to get rewarded. We on the other hand must learn what to reward instead of rewarding everything.
For ten years I have been training people to become leaders. Ten years of working through the ugly behaviors, aggressive dogs of all kinds has taught me a lot. I have learned to train the dogs that are stiff, stubborn and obstinate so they can become soft, compliant and loving. You do get to choose! You’ve known dogs that won’t listen to their owners, dogs that dig up entire landscaped back yards and chew everthing from sprinkeler heads and outdoor furniture, to hoses, bushes and trees. They like to chew indoors things like cabinets, carpet and sheetrock to name a few.
I am Louis Brentnell and I really can help.
