When I met Louis I was looking for a different dog training experience. I had been to other dog training classes before, so I knew what to expect from them. Louis had come highly recommended so I was eager to see how his training methods were different from what I had come to expect from dog training classes. I was not disappointed. 

Although my dog was a small breed, Toy Fox Terrier, he was still a terrier and in need of structure. At our first meeting, Louis asked me many questions that helped identify what I wanted from the dog training experience. Together we identified exactly what goals were most important to me for Elvis to achieve. Louis then designed a program of study based on those goals. This was vastly different from my previous experience in that this was not a “canned” curriculum. 

The pace of the lesson was set by me and Elvis according to how we progressed. We both had to master our parts of the training to master the exercise.  This was the first time I had understood that I had as much to learn as Elvis. In order for this training to be effective, the dog and the owner have to play an equal part. When we came to Louis, Elvis could not walk on a leash and he followed directions when he wanted to.  I was not setting clear expectations for him and was not using a calm voice to give commands.  After working with Louis, we both have made great progress. The specifically designed program coupled with the one-on-one training provided by Louis has made all the difference.  We would not have received that attention at any other program.  Louis was available to answer questions and give feedback at any time. That simply cannot happen in other programs. Louis provides training designed to last a lifetime, not just 10 weeks. After our experience at Wonderdog, Ltd. Elvis is a happy dog and I am a delighted owner.
