TESTIMONIAL > Kelly
My name is Sally and I have a wonderful story for you to enjoy.
My husband and I had always wanted a German Shepherd. We did not want a puppy. We wanted to rescue a dog that needed a god and loving home. We found our Kelly in Dearing GA. She was living in the middle of no where. She ran on 10 achers and had no discipline whatsoever. We brought her home and cleaned her up, she was a beautiful pooch. BUT...her behavior was less than beautiful. Sche would chase our cats, run out the door whenever it was opened and not come back. We would chase her trying to get her to come home. When she ate she would drag her food everywhere. We knew that Sheperds were smart and trainable, but we thought there was no hope for Kelly. I purchased a book and began to read about teaching my dog commands. I worked with her to no avail. The breaking point come on day while vacuming. The sound must have been a negative stimuli. She began to chase me and the vacuum, biting the vacuum, baring her teeth and growling. My persian cat was waling across the living room to the laundry room to use her litter box when Kelly ran upon her, picked her up by her neck and began shaking her viorlently. I saved my cats and put them in the laundry room and put Kelly outside in the fenced back yard and sat down and cried. The dog I had dreamed of was a nightmare. I had lost all hope. My husband and I were about to go to China and adopt our twin daughters. How could I have this dog in my house, behaving like this with two little girls?
I sat down at the computer. Knowing that my pooch needed more than obedience training I entered a search for "Canine Behavior Modification". Wonderdog Ltd was at the top of the list and it was near my home.
So I called and spoke with Mr. Louis and told him about the behavior Kelly was exibiting. He very calmly asked me what I wanted for my dog. I told him I wanted a good dog, with confidence in her intellivence and abilities. I wanted to take her for walks without being tangled in a leash, or having her jump up on people, and I wanted her to live peacefully with our other pets. We set up an appointment. Two days later we took Kelly to meet Mr. Louis. She immediately responded to him. His gentel voice and calm demeanour was so soothing to our dog, we knew this was the place to be. On our first visit we purchased our private lessons and began training. The first lesson for us was to whisper to Kelly, this made her have to listen carefully. We also learned the importance of not using her name when correcting her, but to use it often when giving her praise and affection. In a 60 minute lesson my dog was miraclulously transformed. I knew there was hope for my pooch. After our first visit we took Kelly for a walk and everyone in our neighbourhood was amazed at the changes. Mr Louis had given Kelly her confidence in one lesson. We continued with weekly lessons right through the off-collar training. I take Kelly to the park, off-leash and she sits next to me. She plays frisbee and fetch. When I answer the door, she comes with me and sits down and never approaches anyone, until the approach her. People ask us all the time, Where did you get this wonderful dog? and I tell them. Mr. Louis did this. He taught Patrick and I how to handle our dog, so that she feels loved, confident and secure. Her Self-esteem is so strong that she doesn\'t need to jump up to get attention from others.
Feeling hopless and frustrated about your dogs behavior is very distressing. But Mr. Louis can help and give you back your hope and pride in your dog.
Kelly loves loves loves Mr. Louis and to this day, when we talk about him she gets all wiggly and excited.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about what we learned from Mr. Louis. I hope you will visit with him so that you can enjoy the wonders of a dog that all will envy and marvel!!!
Thanks Mr. Louis.............................Sally Terrill-Tracy
