We were unable to focus her excessive energy into obedience of any kind. When taking her for a walk, there was no controlling her; she was walking us instead of the other way around! This kind of behavior tested our patience and we were ready to get rid of our disobedient dog.

Fortunately, it was Wonderdog to the rescue! After just one lesson we could tell a difference in Daisys demeanor. As the lessons progressed we realized that Daisy was not a "bad dog" but that we were simply inexperienced owners who did not know how to properly train our dog. We now love to take our obedient Daisy for a walk and show her off to our friends!

Kevin and Amanda Farmer

Kelly

My name is Sally and I have a wonderful story for you to enjoy.

My husband and I had always wanted a German Shepherd. We did not want a puppy. We wanted to rescue a dog that needed a god and loving home. We found our Kelly in Dearing GA. She was living in the middle of no where. She ran on 10 achers and had no discipline whatsoever. We brought her home and cleaned her up, she was a beautiful pooch. BUT...her behavior was less than beautiful. Sche would chase our cats, run out the door whenever it was opened and not come back. We would chase her trying to get her to come home. When she ate she would drag her food everywhere. We knew that Sheperds were smart and trainable, but we thought there was no hope for Kelly. I purchased a book and began to read about teaching my dog commands. I worked with her to no avail. The breaking point come on day while vacuming. The sound must have been a negative stimuli. She began to chase me and the vacuum, biting the vacuum, baring her teeth and growling. My persian cat was waling across the living room to the laundry room to use her litter box when Kelly ran upon her, picked her up by her neck and began shaking her viorlently. I saved my cats and put them in the laundry room and put Kelly outside in the fenced back yard and sat down and cried. The dog I had dreamed of was a nightmare. I had lost all hope. My husband and I were about to go to China and adopt our twin daughters. How could I have this dog in my house, behaving like this with two little girls?

I sat down at the computer. Knowing that my pooch needed more than obedience training I entered a search for "Canine Behavior Modification". Wonderdog Ltd was at the top of the list and it was near my home.

So I called and spoke with Mr. Louis and told him about the behavior Kelly was exibiting. He very calmly asked me what I wanted for my dog. I told him I wanted a good dog, with confidence in her intellivence and abilities. I wanted to take her for walks without being tangled in a leash, or having her jump up on people, and I wanted her to live peacefully with our other pets. We set up an appointment. Two days later we took Kelly to meet Mr. Louis. She immediately responded to him. His gentel voice and calm demeanour was so soothing to our dog, we knew this was the place to be. On our first visit we purchased our private lessons and began training. The first lesson for us was to whisper to Kelly, this made her have to listen carefully. We also learned the importance of not using her name when correcting her, but to use it often when giving her praise and affection. In a 60 minute lesson my dog was miraclulously transformed. I knew there was hope for my pooch. After our first visit we took Kelly for a walk and everyone in our neighbourhood was amazed at the changes. Mr Louis had given Kelly her confidence in one lesson. We continued with weekly lessons right through the off-collar training. I take Kelly to the park, off-leash and she sits next to me. She plays frisbee and fetch. When I answer the door, she comes with me and sits down and never approaches anyone, until the approach her. People ask us all the time, Where did you get this wonderful dog? and I tell them. Mr. Louis did this. He taught Patrick and I how to handle our dog, so that she feels loved, confident and secure. Her Self-esteem is so strong that she doesn\'t need to jump up to get attention from others.

Feeling hopless and frustrated about your dogs behavior is very distressing. But Mr. Louis can help and give you back your hope and pride in your dog.

Kelly loves loves loves Mr. Louis and to this day, when we talk about him she gets all wiggly and excited.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about what we learned from Mr. Louis. I hope you will visit with him so that you can enjoy the wonders of a dog that all will envy and marvel!!!

Thanks Mr. Louis.............................Sally Terrill-Tracy

Matilda

At 3 years old Matilda is a precocious Boston Terrier. Delightful and affectionate as she may have been prior to attending Wonder Dog Obedience Program, she was stubborn and determined to perform as she wished. Occasionally she was mindful of my commands but often she chose to do as she pleased offering a pleading look of forgiveness with an abundance of affection. There were also those episodes where as she went running away from me she would playfully glance over her shoulder as if she were daring me to catch her.

Her behavior when anyone came to the house to visit was the definition of chaos . She refused to sit and certainly would not stay if commanded to do so in ANY tone of voice. On a leash as we walked if any diversion was spotted by Matilda my main goal was to manage to stay standing as this 14 pound dog pulled vigorously in an effort to reach whatever had caught her eye.

After attending Wonder Dog she now not only will sit on command but will stay until hearing “okay”. Although I can still see in her eyes the glimmer of delight at the thought of running where she might please, she now comes to me immediately when called. My guests are astonished to find Matilda to now be a delightful dog gladly petting her as she not only sits but stays. It is so wonderful to now feel secure in her return at my command should she get out of the house or fence. Walking with Matilda is now an enjoyable exercise in which I no longer fear I might end up face flat on the sidewalk!

Thank you for all the help.

Molly Singh

Cocoa

Louis,

I want to commend you for the excellent job you did training my German Shepard Cocoa. I had attempted basic obedience by myself with no success. After just one lesson with you (just like you said) Cocoa was paying attention to me and was clearly ready to listen and take the training further. As the training progressed I could see Socoa focusing on the lessons and cleaerly thinking his actions through (just like you said) before he would attempt what "he wanted to do". He has amazed me with his ability and willingness to learn new things and focus and listen to me when we work. He\'s just an amiable fellow who only wants to make me happy. Wven when we are just out for a romp Cocoa can snap to attention and go into work mode with just one command. It\'s wesome. His behavior has garnered many compliments (I always take this opportunity to put in a plug for Louis and Wonderdog Ltd.). Above and beyound all of the obedience through htere has been a special bonding between him and me. He is my friend and companion. And I want to thank you for all you have done to make that possible.

Your friend,

David Dominici

Cooper

We could only describe, Cooper, our Lab as "wild. " She would jump up, pull the leash, get frantic around other animals, would not obey simple commands (e.g. sit, down, stay, come, etc.), but most concerning was that she had displayed aggression towards people. Then, I saw a t-shirt that read, "We can train any dog!" I thought, "that is a bold statement...my dog is "wild"...if he claims he can train any dog...then I would love to see him try to train my dog."

During my free consultation I stood and watched one of your trained dogs perform acts that my dog should be able to perform upon completion of dog training. I admit…I was pessimistic. I did not believe my dog was capable of such obedience! Nonetheless, we enrolled in classes. That was the best thing I could have ever done for my dog! After completing the first class she was no longer pulling the leash or jumping up. Within three classes she was sitting and coming on command without fault. Where she would once run way ahead of me while off leash--she now finds a great deal of joy being in the heel position.

Furthermore, she has not shown any more evidence of unprovoked aggression. Ultimately, she is a happier and more loving family dog who is able to understand what we expect from her and perform that with excellence. She has made a transformation from "Cooper the family dog" to "Cooper the Wonderdog! "

Dr. Brad Senter
** Louis I appreciate your work with Cooper! Since training we have revisited several exercises to keep her sharp. She is doing excellent! We are now doing distance work at or near 150-175 yards. We are daily amazed at how she responds to us! Also, with the above testimonial--if you need to change words, correct spelling, or change phrases to fit your needs--please do so.

Thanks! We are very pleased with their response and their good behavior. They are happier - rarely do we have to say "no "or "bad dog " - and we no longer worry that they will misbehave. Our investment in training was well worth it.

We want to say again that we were very impressed with the extent of your knowledge, your desire to get results and your concern that our dogs not suffer fear or discomfort during the training process. As you know, we are clinical psychologists trained at Stanford University. We like to think that makes us good judges of competence, professionalism and trustworthiness - all qualities we saw in you. . It was easy to see how you applied sound psychological principles to your training. We were pleased to learn so much from you about how dogs think and how to design a step-by-step training sequence that was easy for the dogs to learn.

In addition, it was a significant benefit to have you available for questions that came up during and after our training period. Your suggestions helped us select our electronic dog fence, and your later visit to our home helped us decide how to train the dogs to stay in and out of specific areas when people visited. It\'s great to know we can call you if a new problem or question comes up and reassuring to know that your recommendations will be based on a personal knowledge of our dogs temperaments and home environment.

Thank you again. We are lucky to have found you so close to home.

Nick and Mary

Zeke

I was skeptical when I heard that Louis at "Wonderdog" could train even the most unruly dogs. After seeing him in action with his own trained dogs, However, Jan and I agreed to test his abilities with our Five year old jack russell terrier "Zeke". Always full of himself, Zeke is an energetic little guy who would jump on anything and everybody and would never think of letting anyone out of a door ahead of himself or walk next to his master on a leash. All of that changed when we commissioned Louis to teach an old dog new tricks. It was uncanny to see how Louis could so quickly get Zeke to respect and obey him by using positve reinforcement. I never thought I would see Zeke sit a distance from us and only move when commanded to by the call of his name. He not only has done that but has done so as a rabbit ran closley by. He\'s now a pleasure to walk on a leash and is a perfect gentleman when the door opens and he waits until he is allowed to pass through.

"Wonder Dog" has a great setting for training and boarding and it was expecially nice to be able to get daily training for Zeke when he was boarded while we were out of town. I would recommend Louis and his staff to anyone.

J. At age 11 months, I had a 70-pound uncontrollable bundle of energy.

Louis described my Weimaraner puppy, Annabelle, as a "wild child". After the first hour session, Annabelle had already learned not to jump up, and annoying habit that I had been unable to break. In 2 weeks, she was a different dog, one that was becoming controllable and, most of all, enjoyable. The transformation was amazing to watch, as she became the dog I had imagined she could be. Now I am the owner of a beautiful, sweet dog who will be a joy to spend time with truly a Wonderdog!

Amy R. I turned to Wonderdog and Louis Brentnell, and began individual lessons with my dog when he was 16 weeks of age. I was very pleased with the format of the lessons, the instructional handouts, and the individualized help I received when specific issues or questions arose. Basic instruction on such issues as crate training, house training and management of typical puppy behaviors made having a young dog in the house fun and easy.

Three years later, I can attest that this early training was invaluable in setting up good behaviors (for my dog and for me!) early on that set the stage for the development of my puppy into the well mannered and happily adjusted dog that he has become. I am happy to recommend Louis and Wonderdog to others who are seeking individualized assistance in dog training.

Dr. Linda Hardy

Bogey

If you dog is in need of training, I highly recommend Louis Brentnell and Wonderdog . I had attended other puppy and regular training courses with my dog, but had limited success.

My dog is a 90-pound lovable, yet stubborn, Yellow Labrador Retriever named Bogey. I became pregnant and was concerned about being able to handle Bogey during the pregnancy and after the baby was born. I saw the Wonderdog brochure at my kennel, and decided it was worth a try.

I am so happy I decided to call. I worked with Louis and Bogey until the week before I delivered and the results were fantastic. Bogey obeyed and was a pleasure to be around, and I no longer had to worry about him jumping on me during my last trimester of pregnancy. And, as an added bonus, Bogey has been very loving and gentle with the baby, even when his paws are grabbed or whiskers are pulled.

It is for all of these reasons that I highly recommend Louis and Wonderdog.

Janet Gallo

Barklee

I would like for4 someone to know how much I learned and how much I enjoyed taking my dog to Louis Brentnell in Appling.

I got Barklee, a Weimaraner, in April, fully intending to teach him like I have done my other dogs. cancer treatment wore me out during the time I should have been working with him. All of a sudden, he was 6 months old, hard-hyeaded, belligerent, and +60 lbs. I could not control him so I asked my vet for help.

We can train any dog!! Ha! I knew Louis had met his first failure our first day. Within 5 minutes, he had Barklee under control. We went each week, and each week I felt I was losing the battle. Somewhere along Week 8 or 9 I began to see an aimprovement both in the dog and in me.. Louis had not only the dog to teach, but me to reteach.

Louis was very sensitive to my physical weakness. He worked on solutions for the problems that cropped up and there were many because of how much Barklee had gotten away with for four months.

I am glad I had the opportunity to meet Louis and his family. I see a man with much love for God\'s four-footed creatures. While he helps them, he also helps two-legged creatures do right by their animals.

Helen F.
